Trophy Magnet® Hegari
Trophy Magnet Hegari (pronounced Hi-Gear) is a tall grain producing forage sorghum that makes and excellent addition to your wildlife food plots. Hegari grows from 3 – 6 feet tall and produces white grain in an upright compact head. It takes about 100 – 120 days for it to mature and remains standing well into the fall due to excellent stalk strength. Trophy Magnet Hegari will attract a variety of wildlife including deer (both whitetail and mule), turkey, quail, pheasant, and dove. The stiff stalks will stand well into the fall and even early winter making the grain available to wildlife for long after the plant matures. Hegari can either be planted alone or in combination with other warm season grains to provide valuable forage for wildlife over an extended period of time.
Planting dates for Hegari are from May through June.
Planting rate is 10 – 12 lbs/acre.
