Short Description: 'Stampede' Bermudagrass Blend is a formulated seed blend of  two very productive forage varieties, 'Wrangler' and Arizona Common.  'Stampede' is adapted to the southern half of the transition zone and areas to the south where bermudagrass is traditionally grown.  

Description: 'Stampede' Bermudagrass Blend was developed for faster establishment and higher productivity in warmer temperate climates. 'Stampede' is a proven performer with high quality, high tonnage production for those forage producers wanting to maximize their profits from livestock production. 'Wrangler' provides superior cold tolerance and earlier spring greenup while the Arizona Common provides quicker establishment and late season production.  The two varieties compliment each other quite well. 'Wrangler' offers insurance against winterkill for those years with harsh winters which occasionally reach further into the South. In these instances, Arizona Common may experience substantial winter kill but the 'Wrangler' will prevail and provide good quality forage early in those years and compensate until the Arizona Common recovers. 'Wrangler' is also known for strong early season forage production while Arizona Common is stronger late in the season. The combination of the two provide for full season high production in the southern regions of the United States. 'Stampede' will maximize the forage production by providing superior tolerance to a wide variety of stresses.

Uses of 'Stampede' Bermudagrass Blend

Livestock Production: 'Stampede' is an excellent choice for high quality forage production in the southern regions of the United States.  'Stampede' provides season long superior hay and grazing production for cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. 

Soil Stabilization: 'Stampede' provides a dense sod-forming ground cover for many conservation practices.  Quick establishment and high stress tolerance make 'Stampede' the best choice for pond dams, stream bank stabilization, and waterways.

Industrial Turf Applications: When a 'Riviera'-type turf is not desired, 'Stampede' can offer a quick quality turf cover for roadsides, right-of-ways, lots, public parks and playgrounds. 'Stampede' is easily mowed with a rotary mower and provides a great surface for most all recreation activities.  Low maintenance and superior stress tolerance make 'Stampede' the obvious choice for many medium-quality turf applications.
