Trophy Magnet® Red Ripper Cowpeas

Trophy Magnet® Red Ripper Cowpeas are a medium sized very heat tolerant, drought hardy cowpeas that can make an excellent addition to you wildlife food plot strategy. Red Ripper Cowpeas are very hardy making them an excellent choice for food plots in Oklahoma and the southern United States. Deer, (both Mule and Whitetail), Turkey, Quail, Pheasant, and other wildlife eagerly seek out the foliage and grain produced by the Red Rippers as they grow to maturity. Red Rippers also have a high percentage of “hard” seed which will lay dormant in the soil for up to two years allowing them to “volunteer” back for several years. Trophy Magnet® Red Ripper Cowpeas make a valuable addition to your food plot plan whether planted alone or in combination with other warm seeded species. Red Ripper Cowpeas have the tendancy to go into a state of dormancy when extreme drought conditions are experienced.  If moisture is eventually received, the peas tend to take up where they left off, making them and excellent choice for a food plot material where harsh summer conditions are expected.
